It keeps your tops out of the local landfill, prevents consumption of newly mined or made substances to replace them, and essentially recycles the materials for additional tenures of use. Maintenance and care can add years of beautiful service to your tops, and that will help you save some green in the long run, too.
Free Repairs? Maybe!
If your solid surface, granite, or quartz countertops are less than one year old, then the material and labor is still covered under the CA state mandatory warranty requirement. Contact your contractor for details or inquire at the California State Contractors Licensing Board for more information.
If your installation is less than ten years old, it may very well still be covered by the material manufacturer's warranty. Most surface producers offer a warranty of at least ten years, some as long as fifteen. Consult the website of your countertop manufacturer for further details.
Did You Know?
That small surface chips can be filled and fixed with super glue? It's true! If you have a very small chip in your surface, clean it out and fill it with super glue. Be careful to only fill it to the top and try not to get any on the flat surface of the deck. Let it fully cure (which may take a while) and then trim it down to the deck level by sanding it (solid surface), or razor blade it off (granite, quartz). Be careful whenever attempting these procedures and always contact us immediately if you have any doubts or concerns!
